Glycolic Acid Acne Treatment
By Acne Free | November 5, 2006
Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid are two well know over the counter acne treatments, but there’s another that you should consider adding to your acne fighting repertoire. It’s called glycolic acid.
A glycolic acid peel is very effective against acne. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid. It works best when used with other treatments like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or vitamin B5.
Glycolic acid works by removing dead skin cells which can otherwise clog you pores.
Glycolic acid is typically associated with beauty products because it makes your skin look younger, but don’t let this stop you from using it to help get rid of acne.
