Jojoba Oil – The Last Thing You Would Expect To Help Your Acne

By Acne Free | August 19, 2007

Over time, various natural treatments for acne have been discovered and whilst some remain sceptical about their effectiveness, others have found them to be particularly helpful. One such natural treatment which has been discovered is Jojoba Oil and it is its anti-inflammatory properties which help to keep acne under control.

Using Jojoba Oil to Control Your Acne

Many people are surprised by the fact that Jojoba Oil is used to treat acne because it is an oil. People automatically assume that oils will clog the pores and make acne worse, but because of the unique structure of Jojoba Oil, that does not occur when you use it.

Studies have shown that Jojoba Oil can actually help to unblock the pores and also they can prevent further clogging later on too. It only takes a couple of drops a day to help with your acne problem and generally it is not really that expensive either. However, it is mainly only suitable for mild acne.
If you have medium to severe acne then it may be better to stick to a proper acne treatment.

Jojoba Oil does manage to keep small zits away and it can also get rid of any existing small zits, but it does not tend to do much for severe type acne. That will unfortunately need a stronger treatment which you can get from your doctor. So, only attempt to use Jojoba Oil if you have mild acne or use it combined with other treatments.

When it comes to how Jojoba Oil actually works, basically it is a little like the sebum in our skin in structure. This means that when it is absorbed into the body, it can easily mix with the natural sebum and stop it from clogging up the pores. It is the result of too much sebum which causes acne in the first place, so when the Jojoba Oil helps to unclog the pores and keep Sebum numbers controlled; it automatically helps your acne problem.

So just how exactly does Jojoba Oil stop the sebum from overproducing? Well the only real explanation is that somehow the Jojoba Oil manages to trick the body into thinking that it is Sebum. So if the body thinks it is Sebum, it will then not produce as much as it would usually do. As well as helping to control the sebum, Jojoba Oil also helps to moisturize the skin and minimize the risk of flaking.

So overall Jojoba oil is definitely one of the best natural treatments for mild acne, but remember that if you have a more severe type of acne, it will need to be looked at by a doctor. Also not all natural treatments will work for everyone so do not expect miracles and always give the treatments that you do try, at least a couple of months to work.

When you look at it, Jojoba Oil is a pretty fantastic product and if you would like to try it then you will easy find it in your local heath store.

I think the natural sebum + additional jojoba will make the acne worst. People with acne must be trying to get rid of it and not to add more oil to the existing oil. what say?
