New acne gel ( Aczone ) gets FDA Approval
By Acne Free | March 21, 2006
Aczone might be an alternative to Retin-A and Accutane.
This latest acne treatment contains an ingredient called dapsone, and in clinical trials of more than 3,000 people with acne Aczone has shown to help clear up acne.
The results of the testing also found that Aczone was more effective on women than men.
The side effects were mild and included dry / peeling skin, and redness of the skin. This is typical of any acne treatment.
I’m not sure when Aczone will be available, but right now they’re doing a post approval study with 50 patients.
