Filtered Water Helps Acne

By Acne Free | November 4, 2006

One thing I found myself doing when I had acne was ignoring simple common sense things that would improve my skin, and going hog wild for crazy, exotic remedies.

One of those simple things you can do to improve your skin is drink plenty of filtered water.

Water keeps your insides clean. It flushes out bacteria and free radicals, and keeps your skin moist. That last one is important. Some people think you need to dry out your skin to get rid of acne – not true. You want to avoid oil based moisturizers, but don’t let your skin dry out.

How much water should you drink?

A good rule of thumb is at least 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water. so a 150 pound person should be drinking at least 75oz of filtered water a day. Yes, that’s filtered water, not that toxic soup that comes out of your faucet. Bottled water is no good either (read more about water at water filter research).

Treating acne doesn’t always require prescription drugs, blue lamps, or Chinese herbs – Just drinking clean water can have a dramatic impact on your skin.
